Southern Cross Ranks and Responsibilities

This post is to outline the roles and responsibilities of each of the ranks within the guild, so everyone is certain as to what is expected of them and what each rank means.
Guild Leader:
Final say on all disputes where the officers are undecided
Oversee officers and lower ranks to ensure they're fulfilling their responsibilities
· Responsibilities: All officer roles and responsibilities
· Required: Must be an active member
Officer:
Officers deal with the day-to-day running of the guild, Organise and oversee raids they are responsible for raid makeup and loot distribution.
Manage disputes amongst guild members
Listen to and address any concerns or issues from guild members
Responsibilities:
· Manage the guild bank: removes low value items and sells them for cash, passes out masters and other desirable objects in guild bank 1 as needed, documents monies owed by senior members and higher in good standing to the guild.
· Guild recruiting: Promote/Invite/Remove recruits who pass our entrance requirements and have met the terms of membership or have failed it.
· Forum moderation: make sure that nothing inappropriate is posted (ie flames ect) and take appropriate actions in handling threads with content that is not deemed acceptable.
· Raiding: Assist in scheduling and running raids and coordinate raid loot distribution during raids, advising where necessary if something is particularly appropriate for one particular class
· Membership: inviting alts, promoting and documenting rank changes in any member based on the criteria established for the rank. Making sure alts have a comment in the officer notes as to whose alt they are. Represent the guild as a whole, and handle any complaints about SC members from external folks Ensure the happiness of all guild members
· Required: must be an active member
The Honoured:
This is a rank which acknowledges the player for their contribution to the guild. They have been identified as leaders, however are not considered officers. They have significantly more involvement than a senior member to the basic running of the guild.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the guild bank: removes low value items and sells them for cash, passes out masters and other desirable objects in guild bank 1 as needed, documents monies owed by senior members and higher in good standing to the guild.
· Guild recruiting: Field Recruitment enquiries and refer desirable applicants to the foums to make an application.
· Membership: inviting alts and ensuring alts have a comment in the officer notes as to whose alt they are. Represent the guild as a whole, and handle any complaints about SC members from external folks Ensure the happiness of all guild members
· Required: must be an active member
The Loyal:
This is an earned rank which acknowledges continuous time in guild, activities they have helped with, and donations of money, status and time to make the guild a place people like to be (old title Senior Member)
Responsibilities:
· Membership: Represent the guild as a whole, and handle any complaints about SC members from external folks Ensure the happiness of all guild members
· Required: active member in good standing, 2 years+ within the guild
Member:
This is the standard rank for guild member.
· All members are expected to respect their fellow players (both in and out of the guild), to abide by SOE's EULA and play nice policies, and to ensure their behaviour keeps Southern Cross's reputation clean.
· All members are expected to check our forums regularly, and sign up in advance if they wish to attend raids.
· Able to access guild banks 2,3,4
· Required: Successfully complete the recruitment phase.
Members Alts:
· Any alt belonging to the ranks of; Member, Senior Member or Loyal.
· The same rights and responsibilities of a member.
Recruits:
A potential member and their alts during their trial period with the guild. They are expected to have properly followed our application procedure by posting an application first, reading our rules, have no alts in other guilds (unless the GUILD LEADER ONLY approves) and abiding by our guild charter. If during their 30 day trial period it becomes obvious that they do not fit well with the guild they will be removed. If they are inactive during their 30 day trial period without posting their intended absence they may be removed or allowed an additional 30 day trial period at officer’s discretion.
Southern Cross is continuing to grow strongly in player numbers and Guild Level. Thank you to all the members and officers that have made this happen. We will be working hard to ensure we continue to expand our membership base and have a fun experience for all. If you are in game and not sure who is an officer, simply open your guild tool (U) and hover your mouse over the icons to the left of their name to see their rank!
