Guild Information and Policies
Raid Rules and Etiquitte
In General
Raiders are responsible for ensuring they know the raid rules, loot rules and standards for mains and alts.
The rules can change. It is the responsibility of raiders to check forums regularly to be aware of any changes.
Instructions issued by the raid leader or raid narrator must be followed at all times.
Limited casual chat is permitted during raids, but some common sense should be used: eg: don't talk while instructions are being given or loot is being managed.
Raiders are expected to behave as adults. Rage quitting and tantrums over loot will not be considered favourably.
Raid Alts and Raid Mains
All Mains and Raid Alts must be approved by the Raid Coordinator or Raid Strategist.
Raid Mains and Raid Alts cannot be changed without approval from the Raid Coordinator or Raid Strategist. This includes betraying your class!
Changes to Raid Mains and Raid Alts will only be permitted when new content is introduced, unless specifically requested by the Raid Coordinator. This is due to the overhead involved in gearing up new toons and learning how to play them.
Even though a change to a Raid Main or Alt may be approved, there may be a change of toon penalty applied at the Raid Coordinators discretion. The requester will be advised of the penalty before the change is made.
A current listing of all approved Raid Alts and Raids Mains is stickied in the Raid Information forum. If your toon is not listed there, then it is not entitled to privileges associated with being a raid main or raid alt.
Tanks and DPS can only have Healer or Utility alts and the choice of raid alt is subject to approval the the Raid Coordinator or Raid Strategist.
Healers and Utility can have any alt they like subject to approval by the Raid Coordinator or Raid Strategist.
Looting on raid mains can only be a /need in raid chat once the respective Toon is at Min Raid spec requirements, until this is reached that character can not bid on loot apart from the bid in plat method. Loot for a Raid Alt can only be /need once the Raid Main is at optimal Raid Spec until this is Reached Raid Alt loot can only be Bid on in Plat
Raid Associates.
Players that Attend Our raids as Associates can loot however instead of this player being able to use the /need ability they must bid for the item in plat (Min bid is 50P) as per bid rules. However if the Associate decides to put a raid Character into the guild as a member he then falls under normal member rules and the raid main/Alt min requirements kick in.
Raid Attendance
Southern Cross is a casual raiding guild. There is no minimum raid attendance requirement. Raid attendance is counted for looting purposes only.
Raid signups should be made at least one or two hours before, including any relevant comments. Check the calendar entry for signup requirements.
Raid attendance will only be counted for those who arrive on time for raid formation and stay till the end of the raid.
Raid attendance will only be counted for those who meet minimum requirements.
In the case of a raid being oversubscribed, members sitting out will be granted a point for raid attendance provided they send a tell to the Raid Leader advising they have not been offered an invite to the raid after raid formation has completed.
In the case of oversubscription, raid invitation is at the raid leaders discretion and it is expected that all raiding members have read these rules and understand that sometimes there is not enough space for everyone. Deciding who to leave off a raid is a difficult decision that no-one wants to make. This should be respected and understood by all attending raids. COMPLAINTS AND TRANTRUMS REGARDING EXCLUSION WILL NOT BE LOOKED UPON FAVOURABLY. If you feel you have been excluded unreasonably on a continual basis, the discussion should be had in private with the Raid Leader, Raid Coordinator or an officer during a non-raiding time slot. Pre-raid and mid raid is not the time to raise these issues.
Raiders are expected to be at the raid for the full duration of the raid. It is not permitted, for example, to bid on loot in auctions occurring outside the raid during raid time.
If there is a reason you are unable to be there for the full duration of the raid, you should post in the comments so that the raid leader is aware at raid formation.
Southern Cross is a casual guild and recognises and respects that many couples raid together. It is expected in return that members are aware that raid leaders will not be keeping tabs on which people make up a couple. If you come as a couple, please note this in the comments when you sign up and this will be taken into account when raid invites are made. Such comments should be made in accordance with the latest sign-up requirement posted for the raid. (usually one or two hours).
If you come as a couple and one of you do not meet the minimum requirements for the raid, neither will be entitled to a raid credit.
What to Bring
You are expected to have all the appropriate food, drink, potions, ammunition etc for your class.
Unless you are a rezzing class or a tank, you should also bring "Redemption of Failure" and "Greater Redemption of Failure" signets.
You are expected to carry cure potions on all raids.
Health and power regen potions can also be useful.
What to Install
It is recommended that all raiders install ACT(Advanced Combat Tracker) to allow for triggered instructions during raids. Although it is not compulsory, you will make it more difficult for yourself if you do not have it installed, and may be the cause of many raid wipes. Repeatedly causing raid wipes may impact on selection for some raids. (eg you may be considered an unsuitable candidate for progression raids if you are unable to respond to events on time).
It is mandatory that all raiders install Raid Hub. It Can be Downloaded Here Raid Hub Download Link
